Your Self-Image Is Only The Imagined
You are nothing more and nothing less than complete stillness without identity. I realize for most this seems to be an absurd statement, yet when it is realized, you are freed from the pain and suffering, which accompanies the imagined self.
I wanted to go deeper into the belief of a self–image. Most of us can grasp that we have a self-image, but what does that actually mean? So let’s look at this.
When we say my self-image or his or her self-image we stop short by believing it’s just who I am. If we think a bit more we say it’s who I believe myself to be, as if this who I am is engraved in stone and we have no choice in the matter.
If we take the time to pull the self-image apart all we will come up with is a bunch of concepts being given energy. That’s it really. This whole self-image that is walking around is nothing more than a concept. In truth, it doesn’t actually exist on its own because it doesn’t have its own life force. You see, what you think you are, is nothing but a concept. It has no life unto itself, and so cannot be the truth of who and what you are.
The truth is you are the unconditioned, unblemished pure consciousness devoid of an identity, and what you seem to be as a person is only being imagined. This can be easily understood when we compare it to a dream.
I would think we have no confusion in understanding and accepting that our dreams aren’t real, even though they feel real when we are in them. Isn’t this true? Well, it is much the same with our self-images.
We are without realizing it living in an imagined concept. That is, we are imaging we are a conglomerate of beliefs and concepts.
How did this happen, because I am sure most of us would like to realize our true “Self” and wake up from this illusion with all its pain and suffering?
We have spoken many times of how we as the pure, unblemished consciousness become conditioned with thoughts and concepts.
All this happens from the moment of conception into this imagined world when egg and seed unite and a new expression of consciousness begins to form with parts of the mother and parts of the father. From this point on the fetus is ever exposed to stimulus in this imagined environment.
Through the development of the fetus and birth through the rest of the life experience the life form begins to develop conditioning for survival. It is this conditioning for survival that is filled with personalized beliefs of that expression. It doesn’t make these personalized beliefs true, but it feels true for that expression.
The expressions of consciousness are different due to the experiences of each, which shaped their beliefs, yet all beliefs are untrue when it is realized that there is only the unblemished consciousness, which is the only truth.
Our imagined selves are filled with untruths that are the cause of our pain and suffering. Whether it be emotional pain and suffering or physical pain and suffering it is coming from the imagined self.
Your Pure Self does not suffer, does not need, nor does it desire. You are already complete, pure, unblemished, and eternal. There is nothing more than you. Stop looking to the imagined world to fulfill you and give you a sense of completeness. Enjoy the world and all its expression without malice to any other expression, but give it no power over you. Do not seek your self-identity in it. The imagined self has no ability to give you wholeness.
Our health and wellbeing lay in awakening to our True Nature and letting go of the habit of identity with all its fears of non-existence.
In truth, it is only a conditioned response or habit in believing in an identity.
Giving meaning to thoughts and events and holding onto them as part of a false identity is what causes all the pain and suffering.
Holding onto a false sense of your true Self is the cause of pain and suffering. It is not needed and does not give this life experience any true joy and peace.
All that is needed is the realization that you do not require a made-up, (false), identity to exist.
