Letting Go Of Your Health Concepts
Many of us hold onto concepts of what we believe or have been conditioned to believe is the picture of good health. We then compare everything in our lives to this concept, and when it falls short we feel less.
We have all been programmed base on our environment. This means our family, friends, teachers, organizations, community, state, country, etc. All of this is the environment in which you take in and are subject to influences. These influences shape the meaning we attach to them, and in doing so we create our own self-identity or self-image.
It was challenging enough when there were no multimedia outlets bombarding us with concepts of what was acceptable, however, since then our exposure to influences has been massive and overwhelming.
Media that shows gorgeous men and women, who seem outwardly flawless in appearance, shape our concepts and beliefs of what it means to be healthy and fit. Then we go about comparing ourselves to this idea, and fall short due to our own self-judgment.
Anytime we hold onto a belief, we are restricting our own innate potential to create other possibilities.
Let’s say for instance, I have this idea that unless I have a thirty-inch waist, I am not lean enough to equal the guy on the cover of Muscle & Fitness Magazine. Subconsciously I will feel less than whole based on my own self-judgment. I compared my idea of myself with the fitness model on the cover and judged that I am not as lean, so not as good. This “not as good” thought then creates an emotional sense of lack of being complete or whole. All this because I was programmed to believe, (due to conditioning), that fitness models are the gold standard of health and fitness.
Can you see how concepts and beliefs you hold can stop you from truly creating from the potential that you are?
If I hold no belief that fitness models are the standard of fitness, then I can appreciate the condition he or she is in without judging or comparing my condition. This then allows me to create health and fitness not based on some conditioning but instead on how I feel.
What I am pointing to is realize what your conditioning is in all aspects of your life experience. Realize how all these beliefs have been controlling and creating your life experience. Then begin to let go of these beliefs. When you begin this you will start to realize how they have been controlling you and causing frustration pain and suffering.
Many concepts and beliefs are what sabotage you from creating what you truly want. They cause conflict in your decision-making and cause procrastination. When you go to the doctor with health challenges, and they say it would be best to truly eat healthy, nutritious foods, and let go of the junk foods, alcohol, and coffee, but you instantly feel a sense of “The heck with that I am not doing what he says”, it is your concepts and beliefs that are causing that reaction.
In reality what the doctor says is true, (and you know it), however your self-image/ personality/ ego, feels like it is losing a part of its identity if it cleans up its act.
Remember, to “Believe” means To-Be–Alive-In. Be alive in what? You are alive in a thought or concept, and that is why it feels so real. You as Life itself are giving life to a thought, and it becomes a belief, or better said you become that thought. It feels as if it is a part of you, your identity.
When any part of you is threatened you try to defend it, don’t you? Well, the same goes when any idea you believe in is threatened, the ego will defend its existence.
This is why you do what you do, and act the way you act, and feel the way you feel. It is because it is whom you believe yourself to be. Once again this is the ego/ self-image.
What if you let go of the ego and all the beliefs and concepts that it is made up of?
Well, there would be nothing left that would cause judgment, or attachment.
What would it be like to live each and every moment with out judging your self or others, and not attaching personal meaning to things?
Can you see how much freer you would be? Can you also see how much more still the mind would be when it is not constantly filled with the need to judge and attach meaning?
My goodness, little to nothing would bother you. All would be seen from a place of neutrality and everything that had to get done would be taken care of by you in a state of peacefulness.
Isn’t that what we all want, peacefulness? I believe it is. It is my hope that you come to know this too.
Do you want to be healthy, fit, and enjoy a deep sense of wellbeing and abundance? Then let go of every idea, and attachment to the contrary.
Are you ready to change your life experience? Are you ready to begin enjoying health, fitness, wellbeing, and abundance?
If so, I want to help you.
It takes one simple step. You just have to ask.
I wish for you a Vibrant Life.
Take Good care, Dave.
