It feels like the most terrible thing to lose everything. We of course use that phrase incorrectly, to get across how emotionally devastating a situation is.
It may happen that we lose our jobs, or our homes are destroyed by fire, flood, or earthquakes, our money is gone, or we lose a loved one to divorce, or death.
The way you think about eating is an identity. The way you think about your job or career is an identity, the way you think about the money you earn is an identity. In fact, don’t they all just get categorized under the identity of whatever you call yourself.
The identity of whatever you call yourself, let’s look at that for a moment or two. Look for your – self and what you know it as. Sooner or later if you look deeply, the awareness will come that all of what you know your identity as is only a bunch of thoughts. All of what you know your identity to be are only thoughts nothing more.
Every moment is the potential to change this life experience into something beyond what you have accepted. What does that mean? You at this moment and the next, (everything you believe to be your days, weeks, months, and years of living), can instantly realize that all that is needed is a different direction of thought and action. In that moment you decide to go a different route. It is not that the moment holds the power that must be accessed, but instead you, your True Nature, awakens to its existence, and with it the awareness of how you have been creating your life experience up to this point.
I know you want to be free of illness and disease. I know you want to have a healthy body. I know you want to have a happy life experience. Who in their right mind does not want these things?
Then why is it when we don’t want something it still remains with us? It is because through our attention to what we don’t want we give it life to remain. We have spoken of this before, haven’t we?
I wonder how many of you are really getting the meaning of giving your body what it needs to heal and be healthy?
It seems like such a simple realization, yet have you stepped into it? If not that is okay, however, I then want to ask what is missing in your understanding?
Most all of us have the gift of six senses to experience the world of phenomena. Even those who may not have the function of sight or hearing have developed an elevated ability in some of the other senses.
Our senses alone do not have the ability to do anything other than what their function is. That is sight can only take in images, hearing can only take in sound, etc. The senses do not have the ability to label, judge, or create an attachment to or an identity with their functions. This means the eyes as an organ of sight cannot decided whether something is pleasing or scary, joyful or upsetting. This is true for all the senses.
Oh my goodness, I have to tell you that almost every client and friend, who comes for help to get healthy, feels the need to express how hard it is for them.
This whole healthy lifestyle is hard to do. All the eating right and working out, and getting sleep and the whole drinking water thing is just annoying. I feel like I’m being a different person.
The reason anything in life seems hard or challenging to do is because it is different from how you have been living or doing. It is new. We say people don’t like change. It is not that people don’t like change it is just that there must be a change in you, and that feels uncomfortable. It is the mind / ego saying “That’s not the way we do this”.
